It was honestly one of the hardest and most wonderful things I have ever done. So proud that Nathan had the guts to do it. I don't know if I would! He was so nervous! We went to Brick Oven before and met sooooo many missionaries there doing the same thing. He met two going to Mexico--not his mission, but it was fun.

He is doing well. He told me he likes the food, his companion is cool and his district is cool. He isn't full of a lot of information, but then again he never was! Ha Ha! In his own way he let us know he is doing ok.

I pray so hard for him. I miss him, and the house is so quiet, but this is what we have dreamed of all his life. I am so grateful for my wonderful Bubba!

Christmas Spirit

"It's that time of year... every song you sing seems to say, Merry Christmas!" Ok, so it is almost Christmas and my tree is up--just not decorated. I am wondering if it will happen this year.

This missionary Christmas is very different than any I have ever had. We all seem to have a different spirit about us. Stuff really doesn't matter to any of us. Time, hugs, laughter, memories, and tears seem to abound in our house right now--and that is all we really want or need. I am excited for Christmas, but enjoying every second of this wonderful season. It is rapidly approaching and I am nervous but so happy!

Our holiday season started with a wonderful trip to Arizona for Thanksgiving with dear friends. It was warm and wonderful. We had such a great time. We drove so we had hours to talk and be together. It was just what mom wanted! Nothing this year has been traditional, and that is ok--the spirit of it is there!

This Christmas will be one for the record books! I am so proud of Nathan and of his love for the Lord. What a great kid we have, and I thank my Father in Heaven every day! I am so glad that he is so willing to go on this mission. Mexico is getting a wonderful child of God for two years, I will miss him terribly, but I am so happy that he is going. How can you have so many emotions all at once? I don't know, but I do feel them all!

Glen's Mission Farewell

Sunday Nathan and I went to Glen Jackman's farewell. These two boys were born a week apart! Christie and I were pregnant together, and what a fun time it was. They are cousins! The miracle about this is that they were both called to serve in Mexico. Glen is going to Mexico Hermosillo Mission and leaves Wednesday November 16th. Nathan is going to the Mexico Tuxtla Gutierrez Mission and leaves January 18th. Glen did an amazing job on his talk and he will be an amazing missionary! It was a fun drive up and a wonderful time there in Northern Utah! Look out Mexico!!

Do you notice Nathan's Mexico flag tie? He just loves it! He searched high and low to find this tie. He finally had to get it on-line! He is pretty excited about his mission!

Mission Madness

Nathan's papers have been in for a week.
