Hot, Hotter and Hottest

Every picture that I get of Nathan he is sweating.  Now I know it sounds funny that I mention this--he is after all in the Jungle. Ha Ha!  But seriously, I think where he is it is hot, hotter, and hottest.  Those are the seasons.  When I see this I just feel so amazed that he has never said one thing about the heat.  I am not sure what to think of that either.

Nathan is doing well.  We found out that his companion was just made zone leader.  He has loved working with Elder Jenne.  Today Nathan headed to the mission office to pick up his new companion.  He doesn't know who it will be but he has been assigned to be a trainer.  His companion is coming straight from the MTC.  He is pretty excited.

The other picture is of his hammock.  He has been waiting about two months for this hammock.  He ordered it from a man who is in prison.  He made it for him.  I guess hammocks are a big deal there.  He is pretty happy for it.

You have to laugh about Nathan's outfit--he is now my little Mexican boy!  Loving his soccer jersey!

Baptism!!!!

Uniting a Family!!!!

Here is a picture of the reason we let them go!  Can you see the happiness?  So proud of him.  He is loving Mexico and working hard.  He loves the people so much.  He is working with many families right now and he is loving it!

It does a mom good to see the happiness in his face.  We are noticing his growth in each email.  What a great kid.  We love him and miss him terribly!!!  But so happy for this experience!

MEXICO

Nathan has been assigned to the Juarez area in Tuxtla Gutierrez Mexico.  He is loving it!  He was surprised how big Mexico City was.  He said it was the biggest city he has ever been to.  He had a four hour lay-over there and then headed to Tuxtla Gutierrez.  From there they assigned him to Juarez.  It is still in the city and he loves it!  He loves the people. They are very humble and he loves to talk with them.  He taught Gospel Principles his first Sunday and loved it.

Nathan is so happy!  I am so relieved.  He has grown so much in the past five months.  Dallas was a great start to his mission journey.  It is so fun to hear his letters.  I didn't think he would be so positive about everything--but he is!  His companion is from Montana and that surprised him, but he said he is great!

West Desert!!!

In 2008 our family started our own geocache in the west desert in Utah.  We drove out to Lakeside Utah today and tried to find the cache.  It was so fun.  We did find it and noticed 15 people have signed our book telling us they found the cache.  It was a little cold, but so much fun!  On the way we saw antelope, fox, badger, and lots of rabbits.  What a fun Sunday ride.  We took a treat and had a blast.

The desert was so dry but so beautiful.  Check out the two cactus flowers on the side of the road.  This just goes to prove that there is beauty all around!

"Room of Requirements"

Ok, here is a little Harry Potter for you. This is what happens when you have been in the MTC too long. Nathan found what they are calling "the room of requirements" I guess they needed some much deserved time to let off some steam. I recognize those black socks! I am glad that he is having a great time. He is supposed to leave for Mexico this week. We still haven't heard anything yet. Hope the Visa goes through. He sounds good and is loving his mission so far. Thanks for all the prayers!

It is so nice to see the goofy kid is still in there! Can't wait to hear all the details!

Elder Nelson

Well, we survived the MTC drop off. It was honestly one of the hardest and most wonderful things I have ever done. So proud that Nathan had the guts to do it. I don't know if I would! He was so nervous! We went to Brick Oven before and met sooooo many missionaries there doing the same thing. He met two going to Mexico--not his mission, but it was fun.

He is doing well. He told me he likes the food, his companion is cool and his district is cool. He isn't full of a lot of information, but then again he never was! Ha Ha! In his own way he let us know he is doing ok.

I pray so hard for him. I miss him, and the house is so quiet, but this is what we have dreamed of all his life. I am so grateful for my wonderful Bubba!
